of three pulmonary critical care specialists who are part of a larger
140-physician multi-specialty group. The location is a large university
community within a two hour’s drive south of Chicago and an hour’s drive north
of Indianapolis. The metro area population is 180,000. The group is building a
new 150-bed hospital that will open in the fall of 2008. When the new hospital
opens, the group will cover just one hospital. This new hospital will have an
EICU system. One of the three physicians is boarded in sleep medicine and along
with a neurologist, treats patients at a multi-disciplinary sleep center. This
location enjoys a robust economy anchored by several large employers. Residents

WISCONSIN: Join
a 250-physician multi-specialty group in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The focus of the
practice is outpatient pulmonology with 1 to 2 days per week of Critical Care
and the option to do sleep studies at two sleep medicine centers. Call will be
one in three. The multi-specialty group operates 14 clinics in the Milwaukee
metro area. The Pulmonary Critical Care department is located at one clinic.
Three pulmonary critical care specialists share call and provide critical care
coverage at 2 hospitals. The practice is 75% pulmonology and 25% critical
care. One of the three physicians is transitioning into a full-time hospitalist
position. Milwaukee is a 4-county metro area with a population 2 million.
Milwaukee is located 90 miles directly north of Chicago and is situated on the
western shore of Lake Michigan. Major employers in the area include GE
Healthcare and Harley Davidson. Healthcare is thriving with the construction of
4 new hospitals in the area and total investment of over $1 billion in new
healthcare facilities. The downtown area is also thriving. In the last three
